Burdett Kanadier ESL Program
We have a high concentration of students whose parents are German speaking and come from Mexico. These Kanadier students attend our public schools and are encouraged to integrate into the regular classroom. To accommodate the parents, who wish to have their children in a separate classroom, we have set up an ESL classroom at Burdett School. This classroom is for Mennonite students over the age of 10. Approximately 75 Mennonite students attend Burdett School with 28 in our ESL classroom. Our German students receive German/ Religious Studies twice a day from a German teacher assistant.
