International Studies

Located in the far southeastern corner of Alberta, Canada, Prairie Rose School Division is home to a number of unique cultures and communities. Spread over 29,000 square kilometers, the school division is made up of 19 schools, including four high schools.

Our high schools are located throughout the division and can be found in the communities of Dunmore, Oyen, Bow Island, and Foremost. Each school offers a 10 month home-stay program for international students. This flexibility allows Prairie Rose School Division to match up the Canadian experience students are looking for with the community that’s right for them. Students are able to choose between the rolling hills of the Canadian prairies, the rural atmosphere of small town living or the urban lifestyle experience found in the nearby city of Medicine Hat.

At Prairie Rose, it is easy to choose a school to fit your cultural and social needs without jeopardizing a comprehensive education program. Prairie Rose School Division has been recognized as one of the top education jurisdictions in the province of Alberta and has been presented with several awards for excellence in achievement. Upon graduation, international students qualify for a full Alberta High School Diploma.

With so many educational options to choose from Prairie Rose School Division is excited to offer a world class education to students, while highlighting the Canadian living experience.
