Moving and Choosing
Moving and Choosing is a community-based coalition of child and adolescent obesity. Key objectives target building healthy school environments and improving access to high-quality curriculum education in nutrition and physical activity. Community partnerships link schools and families to programs, which promote active living and increase food security.
Moving and Choosing is sponsored by Alberta Health and Wellness and is made possible through key partnerships of the Alberta Health Services, Be Fit for Life Centre, Southeastern Alberta School Districts and local Community Partners.
"PRSD and Moving and Choosing are pleased to partner to implement the "Moving and Choosing" project. This project will increase the content of healthy lunches, increase knowledge and capabilities of teachers in regards to active living, and create a positive social environment by decreasing disruptive behaviours at recess. The project receives funding from the Alberta Healthy School Community Wellness Fund."
