I have had a career in education and felt it was an area I could make a contribution back to my community.

It is a very exciting time to be involved in education. The success of our students and the programs we have initiated (ie: videoconferencing), can easily be contributed back to our staff who continue to embrace new opportunities to learn. I am very proud to be involved in a community where everyone continues to work and learn together.

Over the years, I have worn many different hats in the school system as both an employee and a parent. It has always been my goal to provide opportunities for our students so they can be the best that they can be. And while I am proud to be part of one of the best school divisions in the province, we must always be looking for new ways to improve and grow in the future.

Kathy has spent many years involved with Alberta's Child and Youth Services at both the regional and provincial levels.

She has been appointed by the Minister of Child and Youth Services to serve on the Southeast Alberta Authority Board for Region II.
