Schuler School Principal Announced

Superintendent Roger Clarke would like to congratulate Kerry Watson who has accepted the position of Principal at Schuler School.

Kerry started her teaching career in Lethbridge in 1989.  Five years later, she was hired by Prairie Rose School Division as a teacher at Senator Gershaw School in Bow Island in the role of Classroom Support Teacher and Work Experience Coordinator.  In 1995, she moved from Senator Gershaw to Seven Persons School where she taught modified junior high programming and was the CST for grades 1-9.  In 2008, Kerry was promoted to the Coordinator of Student Services at Division Office, providing services to PUF, JK and Kindergarten students and staff.

“Kerry has a very diverse and comprehensive education portfolio,” says Superintendent Roger Clarke.  “Her time at division office in the Coordinator of Student Services position has allowed her to build many relationships, develop a deep understanding of the needs of small schools, and provide valuable early learning insight that can be applied to a multi-grade format.”

“I am very excited to be given the opportunity to lead the learning at Schuler School and be part of a team that embraces strong academic achievement,” says Watson.  “The Schuler community is a passionate, strong, resilient community and I look forward to continue to build on the relationships that the current staff and administration have built.”

Kerry Watson will officially assume the role of principal at the start of the 2018-19 school year.
