RMAP School Literacy Grant

Redcliff School Recipient of 1,500 Book Grant
RMAP School and the Redcliff Library team up to bring literacy resources to Redcliff families.

Redcliff, AB – Thanks to the combined efforts of both the Redcliff Public Library and students at RMAP (Redcliff Mennonite Alternative Program) School, Redcliff families will soon have access to 1,500 new books.

The books are a result of a successful grant application to Indigo Love of Reading Foundation; an organization dedicated to putting books into the hands of Canadian children.  The organization’s focus is about making reading materials available so all communities have the same access to quality literacy resources.

“This is very exciting for both the school and the library,” says RMAP principal Tracy Frank.  We have been in partnership with the Redcliff Library for four years.  “Our students enjoy bi-weekly trips to the library and librarians bring programing into our school to ensure staff have access to relevant resources to supplement their lessons.”

“The partnership between the Redcliff Public Library and RMAP has been extremely beneficial, not only to the students in the school, but for the community as a whole,” says Redcliff Library Manager Tracy Weinrauch.” We strive to succeed at being an inclusive environment for everyone in our community and working together with the Mennonite families has been such a positive experience.”
