New Jenner Principal Announced

Superintendent Roger Clarke would like to congratulate Kirby Stensrud who has accepted the position of Principal at Jenner School.

After receiving a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Lethbridge, Kirby began her teaching career working for Grasslands School Division at Duchess School and Holy Family Academy in Brooks before moving to Jenner School in Prairie Rose School Division. Throughout her ten year teaching career Stensrud has taught multiple grade levels including junior high, upper elementary, kindergarten and held a specialized English Language Learner position reaching over all subject areas. Two years ago, Stensrud stepped into the acting-principal role at Jenner and has since completed her Leadership Quality Standard Certification.

“I am so excited about this opportunity. Jenner School is an incredibly unique place, where my dad went to school, where I went to school, and where my own kids attend,” says Stensrud. “I am thrilled to continue with Jenner School's role in rural education and growing and developing learning opportunities for our students. The principal position allows me to further teaching and learning alongside the fabulous students, staff, parents and community.”

“Kirby grew up in the Jenner area and understands how a small school impacts both students and community,” says Superintendent Roger Clarke. “Over the past couple of years, she has assumed the acting-principal role where she has demonstrated a high commitment for instructional standards and community partnership. Her long standing connections with the community make her an excellent leader for Jenner School.”

Kirby Stensrud is currently working as the acting-principal of Jenner and will officially assume the role of principal at the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
